Dear Knnmbd,
It seems to me you do not understand the difference between taxes and Social Security / Medicare.
With my taxes I pay for (example) roads, police, courts, public TV and so on. And I use what I pay for (another nice example is when the police paid by me catches me with high speed and fines me :-)
SS and Medicare are future services which I would not use while I am on H1/L1 or if I do not get permanent residence by some reason. This is my money which the US government has compulsory taken from me and I have not used it. So, I have the right to get this money back and use it for my eventual retirement in another country.
We do not change the law of the land to benefit us, we just do not want to be cheated and treated like retarded.
The real ridiculous stuff is the way the government agencies are treating the legal immigrants but nobody in the "great" country care to notice that, especially the law-makers.

Do you think in a economy like this with high gas prices, the war, and not to mention the ailing social security system and everything else asking the government to stop taking SS tax and Medicare from non- immigrant workers is going to fly, I DON�T THINK SO. So all I am saying is the issue is not SS or Medicare or entry date being the PD, but it is MORE IMMIGRANT VISA NUMBERS. I think we have lost our focus after the bill was shot down in the senate. We have just ONE demand if I am not mistaken, and I think the core team will agree with me on this and that is to ease retrogression by having more visa numbers in the pool for countries like India and China and that should be our only demand.

Any trend of backlogs getting cleared?
My employer is a big wall street investment bank, and they have filed my PERM on May 14th.
The trend for PERM certification at Atlanta, as per my employer is between 90-120 days. Because they handled so many PERM cases at Atlanta, they know this trend.
Nothing muck we can do here. Just pray and hope for the best.

Everything has a cover, some cover ups are accepted some are not. N.Korea, justifies recent NT by saying they had the pressure and threat from neighbouring countries and USA. Nobody buys that story. Similarly we cannot but the story of USCIS saying its the issue of demand and supply. If that was the case why so many visa numbers were wasted.
Why there is fees increase in all the applications( they have enough fund for 20 years even if they dun get a penny from today onwards.)
Anyways, why are you still here in US.. go to Canada.. that will be the best for you.

I got a email notification from my attorney just now that my I-140 is approved with priority date ported from EB3. Not sure whether I should wait few weeks before initiating interfiling process.

Fedup is an understatement. Zero accountability. After moving dates to 2006 now dates go back to 2003????????? Last year it started with date being at Apr 2004 and this year starts with Apr 2003????? This is beyond ridiculous!!!aaaaaaarrrghhhhhhhhhh.
P.S Its wrong to tell that guys with MS are getting their GC's before others. I have one and so do many others I know. There is no order guys...........

EB-3 I wake up and send the letter out..we need to make relevant authorities aware of our situation. Uncertanity and doom stares us come on EB-3 I lets see some action!

How it be a decade, when your PD is 2001 or later? Even for EB-2, the wait time is 4-5 years.
Your letter should be based on facts and not on emotions (that, usually, tends to cloud the good judgment)

absolutely, i need to see microsoft projects to keep track of the lobbying project. why can't the current folks show progress as per the microsoft projects plan. after the end of time and budget, we need to see the result in the form of our GC. that's how we do all our projects at work. why is this lobbying thing any different.
if i can summarize bawa's point, we need to cut all ties with democrats, trash obama repeatedly unless we are sure that we have aligned with sarah palin and we are sure that we have been sidelined for next 8 years. wonderful strategy to ensure 100% failure, i luv it, the change we can believe in.
