Called up Sen Casey's office and I was told that in the local office they cant do much about a mass enquiry but he volunteered to do it on a personal basis for my case in particular.

Arrived in Jul 1999. Worked for a consulting company till July 2000 as consultant (client - a major computer server maker). Joined the client July 2000. Even now, same job, same designation. Luckily my employer applied for EB3 BEC labor (May 2004). Since it got stuck, my boss convinced exec mgmt to apply for EB 3 PERM in Aug 2006. PERM labor got thru in Nov 2006. PERM based I-140 got thru in March 2007. Applied for I-485 in July 2007. BEC labor came thru in Oct 2007. Filed I-140 for BEC labor and it got thru in Feb 2008. Interfiled and now PD on I-485 is May 2004 (EB3 - India).
On some site there was a way to know how many are ahead of me, given my PD, my nationality and my category. And looks like some 25,500+ EB3 cases are ahead of me.. Some 10+ years... Honestly, life has more to it than a colored card... let us move on with life... I will not allow the card to determine (ruin) my life...!!!!

Just EB2 to EB3 and mention that processing of I-140's has nothing to do with the category you are in. Only at I-485 stage the category is important to obtain a immigrant visa from DOS. So make appropriate changes and feel free to modify the letter to suit your situation.

I believe some top-level IV core members are EB3-I with PD 2003-04. So it is hard to believe that they are not worried watching "U" month after month and don't want to do anything about it. But as IV-Core they can not just do something for EB3-I. We need to find a way to fix this issue without creating another subgroup for EB3-I and take advantage of IV movement.

I got a mail from IRS Today mentioning the eligibility criteria for Stimulus package. Only Primary person who filed Tax Return(may be single or jointly)
is eligible to get refund of $600 for single and $1200 if file jointly. Dependant cannot claim the package.
For each child additional $300.

I think they will eventually open up EB2, unless their plan is to clear EB3-I first (which would not be unfair I think).
See one of my earlier posts, one of the core issues is the sudden forward and then sudden backward movements in the dates.
If the demand is anticipated correctly, there shouldn't be need for closing the window at all!

True, once the people realize that they are close to GC they forget all tasks and move on to the other forums (R2I or USC or whatever) there are very few who actually stay on and help add this to the fact that most of the EB3-I's got fed up with the nonsense going on (most were only looking for a sounding board to voice their dismay, instead they were reminded of the caste system). So EB2's stop working because their PD is current and EBs stop because there is little hope/chance/help. We can dissect the VB as much as we want, the fact of the matter is that EB3 as a whole and EB3 (india &China) in particular are screwed big time. There is hope in the Logfren bills but the congress seems to have other 'important' issues to discuss.
We should take the campaign to a new level move from individuals to involving groups and compaines. They have more money and power to make things move. EB3 & EB2 discussions will go on for ever, we can either decide to wallow in our sorrow or do something. Lets identify groups who can help us and write to them. Each EB should talk to his/her HR and ask them to write a letter to their congressman/Senator it will have a bigger impact.
What are your thoughts?

CIR will happen when it has to happen..maybe after the health bill ...but IV not doing anything else while waiting for it is sad....
I left old job 10 months before July 07. But attorney at new employer did mistake with advertisement, and PERM got rejected. Applied again, and USCIS audited all Fragomen cases, so mine stuck there attorney being Fragomen. By then July 07 was gone. In Sept 08 again my PD (Nov 05) was current but I was stuck with Audit.... Finally I got PERM approved, 140 approved, but since then NOV 05 is far far away....

Not sure if anyone else has faced this so wanted to put this out: I own a home and have a loan on it since 2003 (I was on H1 when i took the loan), now that the ARM is about to adjust i am in the market for refinance.
There is however a question on all the loans underwritten by freddy/fanny asking for immigration status and if the answer is EAD the loan is denied. They even sent me an explanation of denial.....:confused:

Just wanted to know your thoughts on this. CNN has launched the first ever cnn-youtube debate and the deadline to submit videos is 7/22.. Users have to basically upload their questions on youtube and some of these questions will be selected and democratic presidential candidates will have to answer these questions.
I know its kinda late, but why not upload videos on youtube asking questions about legal immigration to the candidates? i think it will be a great way of bringing out our problems further in the mainstream... if you think this is a good idea, we may have to act on it fast... we dont have much time.

Preparing for future is one thing but if you think that this is a valuable thread then go with it and enjoy, i just find it disheartening that people are trying to undermine whatever has been achieved by such threads (Like i said, he might be completely right but is there a need to tell it this way) and what are you going to prepare for the future ;) Do you know it ? (If you do, please keep it to yourself and enjoy or cry about it). Right now, i want to be positive and enjoy the fruits of what IV has done to get some relief, why use negative logic to undermine it and that is what i am saying.
