I am going back in a few years!..this in Bhoga Bhumi(Land of material pleasures)...my land Bharath is Punya Bhommi(Land of Good Karma).I am heading home no matter what!
I think as much punya is done in this country as there is a quest of bhoga
Every one says that they are going back in a few years...I am yet to meet someone who says they would not go back no matter what...

Considering all these 750,000 I-485 filings in next 1 month sounds a reasonable estimate.
Many who had labor pending under the old system, applied in PERM also. So it is 144k minus duplicates. But, I have no idea know many are duplicates

i just returned from an infopass meeting... the guy i talked to said that they recently have a directive from the DHS/USCIS that they want to separate the legal stuff from the illegal stuff and hence they are planning to adjudicate a record number of EB apps in the next quarter or two... does anyone else concur? is this true or were my ears just ringing in that meeting?

Why not do a flower campaign or the like, that we did last time? Clearly that worked and the phone campaign doesnt "have the appearance" of working. I am not saying it is not working, it just isint having the same media impact as last time. It doesnt have to be the flower campaign again, heck we can do a fruit basket deal this time.
Our message should be "Please stop punishing people that came here the right way, in order to help the people that did not". We are not against undocumented workers getting amnesty, we just dont want their issues to hold up everyone else's.
There are reasons we MUST NOT do anything like that. Lobbying works on the long run. These days lawmmakers are more informed about the situation and it is just a matter of time.
Do not lose hope - we will succeed.
Please convince your friends and coworkers to make phone calls and visits to law makers offices.

hi i have come to the u.s. on a f2 visa and currently my spouse is doing her OPT.i applied for a driving licence in georgia and i was issued a learners permit based on my I94,visa and letter from social security office denying me a ssn.
i went to the same centre(decatur) for a road test and now they say that we cannot give you a licence because your visa says dependent for a student of wisconsin university,so you should go to wisconsin and get your licence.i went to another dmv centre and after verifying my docs. they let me take the road test and i cleared the test and they asked me to go to the counter to pay money , at that time the person in the counter again asked me for passpoert and i94 and he saw that university of wisconsin stuff on my visa and he said he will not issue a licence and i spoke to the supervisor and he says get a letter from INS ,i showed him my spouse opt card and showed him the words in the card which reads"eligible to work in u.s. upto ----").now he says that is your spouse opt card ,what autorisation do you have to stay in GA ?
has any one come across such a problem?is so kindly advice

Mass porting to EB2 category is the only option. I think most people with old EB3 PD can easily do it. I was reluctant initially but since there is no light at the end of the tunnel, why not take a chance while PD porting is still available. Dont get discouraged by people advising against it, since there is no hope for EB3 anyways.

What the argument would one bring against recapturing of the lost visas ?
People who are in the line will eventually get their greencards although going through much more suffering. So from the point of view of anti/proimmigrants the amendment does not change anything in the long run.
If they were concenred about H-1Bs that part could be debated and split from the visa recapture issue.
I wander how would many answer inevitable questions from the press about word & dead discrepancies. Practivally everybody who opposed CIR claimed that they suppor legal immigration but do not want to encourage those who broke the law and came here illegaly. It's like a movie where the truth reveals in the most unexpected form.
Well at least they have shown their true faces now.

I have a suggestion! I don't think forcing monthly $25 contribution to keep donor status alive is a very good idea, especially in current economy. Take an example of myself. It is decided that I am going to loose job on 17th March, may not be able to contribute every month.
